With just weeks to go in the 2014 campaign for the U.S. Senate, things were looking bleak for Democrats and progressives in Colorado. Republican Cory Gardner’s lead in the polls had grown to six percent.
So NextGen Climate’s political action committee brought in Shandobil Communications to research, write and produce a series of two-minute ads. The ads were designed not only to reach voters, but also to make news.
Ultimately, Gardner won the senate seat, but his support had eroded. His margin of victory was just over two percent.
